The Konkani Sammelan 2016 will be held in Atlanta from July 1-3 this year . We are expecting 1,500 - 1,800 guests, and are planning a memorable event filled with quality entertainment programs, speakers you want to hear, fun events for adults, youth and kids, meeting opportunities and choicest of Amchi food, all keeping with our theme, 'Celebrating Konkani Heritage - Song and Toi on My Mind!'. That along with Atlanta's attractions should make it an exciting trip for all our attendees, leaving one with fond memories of a good time lasting long into the future. As most of Konkani Sabha members who hosted the Sammelan in 1996 and again in 2012 know, this is a unique cultural experience that you don't want to miss for you and your family. This event comes only once in four years and we in Atlanta, a small Konkani community that we are, have been working hard to replicate the successes of past Sammelans, and solicit support and participation from each one of you to make it a great experience for all of us. Please note that this is your Sammelan and its success depends on all of us as a community to keep our Konkani culture alive and have a sense of collective identity to pass on to our younger generations. We request all Konkani Sabha members who have not registered yet, to do so. The discounted registration ends April 30.
